NEW YORK FASHION WEEK! Who stole the show?...

So for those of you who aren't aware,(and lets be honest you'd have to be living under a rock).... We're currently in the midst of New York Fashion Week! New York Fashion Week is one of the four biggest fashion weeks in the world along with London, Paris and Milan! If you're wanting to try and understand our excitement, imagine it's Christmas, or even your Birthday ONLY EVEN BETTER as it comes twice a year! Fashion Week is where over 80 designers, both globally successful and those up and coming, show case their upcoming collections to buyers, press and the general public! (That's us) As we sit back and try to relax, stalking social media for live updates and feeds, the designers compete for the spotlight. With so many designers and shows over the space of 7-9 days, it's going to take something really special to stand out from the crowd. Well I think I've found my favorite 2 who have been showered by the medias spotlight after their hugely successful shows!

My first favorite is easily Tommy Hilfigers Spring '16 Collection! His show was absolutely phenomenal with his Paradise Caribbean beach inspired show. He truly went all out with a teal blue lagoon surrounded by sandy boardwalks, complete with hammock, row boat, palm trees, tiki shack bar and faux sun set. Hilfiger is known for his elaborate designs and I think he can sleep well knowing that he's done himself proud with this one!

His combination of sun kissed models, floral prints, crochet, animal motifs and hand made jewellery were always going to be a winning combination. Especially when modeled by the likes of Gigi Hadid up and coming Australian bombshell!

Following up closely in second place is the beautiful Rachel Zoe and her modern gypsy, boho inspired Spring '16 collection! Zoe has always been an object of interest so it's of no surprise that her show stole our attention last Sunday with her 'Zoo like' show structure. She took a twist on the more traditional fashion show and instead invited her guests, not the models, to walk the runway as 20 models were then carefully positioned around the set. This allowed the intrigued spectators to get 'up close and personal' with her designs.

This collection consisting of lace, fringe, beautiful embroidery, textures, neutral colors and subtle tones of gold has everyone very excited for its release in Spring '2016. This very feminine and elegant collection is a step in a different direction from Zoes previous lines and was inspired by "the glamor of the late 70's and early 80's" and the gypsyish carefree lifestyle! I think a round of applause is in order.

All this talk of New York Fashion Week has got me very very excited for when Fashion Week comes to London this Friday (18th Sep 2015)!

Who will be our show stoppers? Only time will tell!
