We know we know, London Fashion Week only seems like yesterday doesn't it? As we endured the painful count down till Dame Zandra Rhodes kicked off the show and her catwalk came to life. Well with Paris Fashion Week now in full swing, we think it's about time that we reminisced on London Fashion Week looking back on all its highlights. Highlights are a very personal thing. We all look for something different, some the traditional elegance of the Spring '16 gowns and 2 pieces. For us, it's the quirky shows that really capture our attention. The ones that stray from tradition and really think outside of the box when it comes to designing the hair and make up, which in turn really compliments and sets off the designers work.
English born fashion designer Gareth Pugh made his debut at London Fashion Week in 2005. Since then his work has gained him global recognition for his textural mash ups with volume and fabrics which have defined his ever evolving signature style.
After Sophia Webster's hugely successful circus inspired show back in February, we were all secretly hoping for something equally as fun and exciting this time round and we weren't dissappointed! This years show was inspired by Mermaids and Launderettes. We hear you! What kind of combination is that? But a very cool, quirky and clever one as Sophia proves. Her show saw her mermaids have their tails laundered and then hung on the washing line set created by Shona Heath, before gracing us with their slim and slender pins and modelling Sophia's shoes.
Ashish Gupta made his debut appearance at London Fashion Week back in 2005. Since then his shows have most certainly kept us on our toes. His elaborate designs and his unique and innovative look on fashion has won him the new generation award three times! Ashish is always gurannteed to put on a show stopping performance. This year his combination of mesh piece, sequins and skateboards left us wanting to join the party as the girls finished the show with a skateboarding finale!
