Honoring Alber Elbaz of Lanvin

The news of Alber Elbaz's departure from Lanvin has been met with harsh criticism as well as protest among his now former employees. It reportedly was not Elbaz's decision to leave the label that he was hired to revive 14 years ago. This news has been reported at an interesting time, as it is becoming increasingly clear that fashion has been moving far too fast and designers have been feeling a lack of inspiration as a result. When you force artists to operate based on such a fast-paced business, it is not surprising that they would feel their creativity being stifled.

Elbaz's time at Lanvin gave the world unforgettable designs and this should be celebrated. He revived a dying company and made them one of the most well-known and universally well-respected fashion houses in the entire world. Let us revisit some of his best looks, both on the red carpet and on the runway.
