The Importance of Skin Cleansing

A good make-up can hide the defects we wake up with every morning: dark circles, tired eyes, a pimple that appeared exactly where we don’t need it, but make-up removal is the real magic ritual, in which lies the secret of a bright and well-groomed complexion.

Skin cleansing is a very important step that should not be neglected even if we feel tired, without mood, after a busy day. Although it may seem unimportant, cleansing the skin in the morning is very useful because, although during the night we are not dealing with environmental pollutants, the skin accumulates residues in the form of dead cells and sebum.

Both in the evening, before bed and in the morning, the skin must be carefully cleaned, taking special care with the sensitive area of ​​the eyes.

The make-up removal process starts with the lips, then the eyes. In the case of the eyes, mascara is removed first. This is followed by the eyelids and, finally, the removal of the foundation.

Without proper and effective make-up removal, the skin loses its elasticity and radiance over time because, in addition to makeup products, external factors such as cigarette smoke or dust add impurities that attack the skin tissue.

For a correct skin care during the night, we need an effective cleanser but also a tonic lotion. The latter is very important, because it calms the face and removes the last traces of makeup.

Equally important is the face cream for the night because it moisturizes and nourishes the skin, replacing the hydration lost during the day.

Moisturizers, rich in vitamins, are ideal for healthy skin, velvety to the touch.

Among the most important ingredients of nourishing creams are: vitamin E (antioxidant), vitamin C, provitamin B5, aloe vera, because it helps soothe the skin and reduce inflammation.

Glycolic acid also acts as an exfoliant and moisturizer, reducing the accumulation of dead skin cells, giving the skin a younger and more velvety appearance. Honey, milk, chamomile, olive oil have anti-inflammatory, analgesic, antiallergic, emollient, local anesthetic and healing properties.

You can also use washing gels or oils. They are known for their rapid absorption into the skin and are recommended for any skin type, but must be chosen carefully. The best such products include rose oil against wrinkles and wounds caused by acne. If after use the face remains extremely oily, it means that the chosen oil is of poor quality.

Not only the skin deserves more importance. The skin of the whole body must be neat and pleasant to the touch: it would be unpleasant for your lover to caress a not very velvety skin or to find at the last moment that the skin of your feet or heels need a quick exfoliation.

The skin on the hands or on the neck and décolleté should not be neglected either; being the most exposed to the harmful rays of the sun, they tend to dry faster.

For the feet, the exfoliating gel and the moisturizing body lotion represent the indispensable treatment in the daily routine of body care. A warm bath is ideal for soles and heels with a tendency to dry or peel. After they have softened, it is recommended to use a treatment mask to exfoliate dead cells. Once it is removed, apply a moisturizer for the soles and, for a more effective result, leave the socks on overnight.

Regardless of where it is applied, the cream must be accompanied by a gentle massage to help it penetrate better into the skin and to improve blood circulation.

Skin care products should be part of any woman’s cosmetic kit regardless of her age. We present ourselves in society not only through the words or tasks we perform but also through the way we look. The physical aspect, cared for or not, transmits to others another face of our personality. A shiny complexion and well-groomed hair will always win in front of a dry complexion and a look devoid of shine and femininity.

Nutrition and lifestyle also play a very important role. An unhealthy diet or consuming an insufficient amount of water will have negative influences on the skin and the whole body.

Always on the run, we skip breakfast or eat in a hurry; lunch is replaced with fast food, as well as dinner. All these unhealthy habits will be shortcomings on the skin and body weight.

If we eat fresh fruits, vegetables, cereals 5-6 times a day, the result would have the effect of reducing the calories ingested and storing a smaller amount of fat.

Carbonated beverages should be replaced with water. This is extremely important for the proper functioning of brain cells and every organ in the body, including the skin. Water not only satisfies thirst but reduces the feeling of hunger and cleanses the body of toxins. Liquids such as carbonated beverages and coffee have the exact opposite effect: they empty the body of water.
